Hi! I'm Cyd, and Naklejtatu is my art project! I`m bi queer demisexual nonbinary and exhausted, because I`m an autistic person with ADHD. And I`m from Poland, that`s even more exhausting. All the products (+few things that were designed by other queer artists) that you can see in this shop were designed by me.
Most of my art starts as traditional drawings, paintings or linearts and then I edit, change and improve them digitally. Yes, all the cats, weasels, unicorns and dinosaurs that you can see on my flags began on paper. The big rainbow cat began as an acrylic painting, got scanned, edited and now is available on flags, blankets, bags, pillows, stickers and many other things. Whats the main idea behind my art? Making everything cute, friendly and colorful. Our world realy likes to demonise queer, feminist and neuroatypical issues. My answer is cutefication and adding cats on top.
I print my stickers, tattoos and postcards on my own, but I hire companies from Poland, my home country, to print on fabrics and sew other things for me. All companies, just like mine, are based in small polish cities.
My goal is hiring people who help me manage Naklejtatu booth at events full time and I`m slowly working at hiring the first person full time. Everybody who works with me is either queer or neuroatypical, usually both. Because I sell my stuff at polish and european conventions I usually need lots of help during the events, but designs, website, shipping - all of that is managed by me.
My other goal is giving back to the community. I`ve done it before I started Naklejtatu in 2001, because I`m a feminist and queer activist. Right now I support my comunity by giving donations, supporting projects with my artworks or using my time and doing volunteer work at in person events. Some of the products in this shop support selected organisations and projects. If you want to get one of my designs tattooed it`s not a problem, you just need to donate to my local LGBTQIA+ organisation.
